To make this forum as helpful as possible for everyone, please follow these guidelines when asking questions:

  • Be Specific: Clearly describe the issue you're facing or the question you have. Include relevant details, such as error messages, screenshots (if applicable), the steps you've already taken, and the specific device or app you're using (e.g., "Android Merchant App," "Web Dashboard").
  • Search First: Before posting a new question, use the search bar to see if your question has already been answered.
  • Use a Clear Title: Write a concise and descriptive title that summarizes your question. (Example: "How do I add a new menu item?" instead of "Help!")
  • One Question Per Post: If you have multiple unrelated questions, create separate posts for each one.
  • Choose the Right Category: If we implement categories (e.g., "Account Setup," "Order Management," "Payments"), select the most appropriate category for your question. (If not, ignore this).

To keep the forum focused and productive, please avoid:

  • Vague or General Questions: Instead of "How do I get more orders?", ask "What are some effective ways to promote my restaurant on GoFair?".
  • Rants or Complaints Without a Specific Question: If you're frustrated, that's understandable, but frame your post as a question seeking a solution. Instead of "GoFair's driver assignment is terrible!", try "I'm having trouble with drivers not being assigned quickly. What can I do to improve this?".
  • Duplicate Questions: Search the forum before posting.
  • Hypothetical Questions: Focus on real problems you're experiencing.
  • Questions Unrelated to GoFair: This forum is specifically for GoFair-related topics.
  • Questions that are already Answered on the Merchant Page All the answers are already there.

Be Clear and Concise: Provide clear, step-by-step instructions or explanations.

Stay on Topic: Answer the question that was asked, and avoid going off on tangents.

Be Respectful: Maintain a polite and professional tone, even if you disagree with someone. Provide Sources (If Applicable): If you're referencing information from the GoFair Merchant Page, Help Center, or another source, include a link.

Don't Just Post a Link: Summarize the relevant information from the link within your answer. The link should be supplementary, not the entire answer.

Adding to the Question: If you have a follow-up question or need clarification, use the comment feature under the original question, not an answer.

Commenting on Other Answers: Use the comment feature under the answer you want to comment on.

Pointing to Other Questions Without Context: If a question is a duplicate, add a comment saying, "Possible duplicate of [link to question]." If another question is related but not a duplicate, you can include a link in your answer, but explain how it's relevant.

Just Providing a Link: Always include a summary or explanation of the linked content within your answer. Starting Debates: This is a Q&A forum, not a discussion forum. Keep responses focused on providing solutions.

Promoting Other Services: Do not promote competitor services.

This forum uses a "karma" point system to reward helpful participation and grant moderation privileges.

  • Upvotes: When someone upvotes your question or answer, you gain 10 points.
  • Downvotes: When someone downvotes your question or answer, you lose 2 points.
  • Daily Limit: You can earn a maximum of 200 karma points per day from a single question or answer.

As you earn karma points, you'll gain access to moderation abilities, such as editing posts and flagging inappropriate content. This helps ensure the forum remains high-quality and helpful for everyone. (A table with specific karma levels and privileges can be added later if you decide to implement this).

Why Can Other People Edit My Questions/Answers?

This forum is designed to be a collaborative knowledge base. Experienced users with sufficient karma points can edit questions and answers to improve clarity, formatting, and accuracy. This helps ensure that the information is as helpful as possible for everyone. This is similar to how Wikipedia works. Don't worry, your original contribution is still valuable, and edits are meant to enhance, not replace, your input.
